
Enable Customer Reviews for Your Products and Build Trust to Increase Sales
Customer reviews build trust with shoppers and can increase sales. Reviews can be collected for physical, download, service, and subscription products, but not for gift cards.
When customer reviews are enabled, buyers receive an automated email 14 days after order fulfillment. They can leave:
- A written review (up to 1500 characters)
- A star rating (1-5 stars)
- Individual reviews for multiple products in one order
- Reviews within 120 days of purchase

To customize the review request email:
- Access automations dashboard
- Select "Request customer reviews"
- Click Action > Edit Email
- Modify content, subject line, and preview text
- Send a test email to verify appearance
Managing Review Settings:
- Enable email notifications for new reviews
- Choose display options (product reviews, store reviews, or both)
- Control visibility of requested and imported reviews
- Reviews appear in tabs on product pages with black star ratings

Important Review Features:
- Reviews remain visible after product edits
- Can't be exported or transferred between sites
- Customers can't edit or delete their reviews
- Reviews can be hidden but not deleted
- Time limit: 120 days for customers to leave reviews
- Not available for cancelled orders or subscription renewals
- Limited to one review per product per customer
- Reviews are automatically sent for purchases within past 14 days
- Review system pauses when email template is edited
To disable reviews:
- Open automations dashboard
- Click menu beside "Request customer reviews"
- Select Pause
- Toggle off "Requested reviews" and "Imported reviews" to hide existing reviews
Reviews persist after plan downgrades but new review requests stop. Deleting contacts removes their associated reviews, while deleting products keeps the reviews but prevents new ones.
