Customer reviews are a powerful tool to build trust and increase sales for your physical products, digital products, services, and product subscriptions. Here's everything you need to know about implementing and managing customer reviews.

Review Collection Process

  • Customers receive an automated email 14 days after order completion
  • Reviews can be up to 1500 characters with a 1-5 star rating
  • Multiple products can be reviewed from a single email
  • Reviews must be submitted within 120 days of purchase
  • One review request per subscription purchase

Setting Up Review Requests

  1. Access automation dashboard
  2. Select "Request Customer Reviews"
  3. Customize email content and subject line
  4. Send test email if needed
  5. Activate automation

  • Shop Reviews Only: Displays all shop reviews with product images

Managing Reviews

  • View all reviews in Customer Reviews menu
  • Toggle visibility between Public and Hidden
  • Monitor review dates, ratings, and customer information
  • Receive email notifications for new reviews (optional)

Important Limitations

  • Cannot send review requests for orders older than 14 days
  • Reviews cannot be exported or transferred between websites
  • Customers cannot edit or delete their reviews
  • Reviews remain even if products are deleted
  • No direct response system for reviews

Troubleshooting

Common reasons why customers can't submit reviews:

  • Beyond 120-day review window
  • Product no longer visible in shop
  • Previous review already submitted
  • Order was canceled
  • Subscription renewal (not eligible)

Reviews will automatically pause if you edit the email template or manually deactivate the automation. Hidden reviews don't affect overall product ratings, and all existing reviews remain visible even after downgrading your plan.
