Manipulating Demo Content: How to Replace Template Sample Content
Pre-loaded demo content helps you visualize your site's potential layout and features. Here's everything you need to know about managing demo content effectively.
About Demo Content
Demo content showcases your template's capabilities through carefully curated text and images. While it's meant for inspiration, you should replace it with your own unique content before launching your site.
Note: All demo pages use a noindex tag to prevent appearing in search results until you begin editing them.
Finding Demo Content
Open the Pages panel to locate demo content. Demo pages are marked with a [Demo] label next to the page title. Icons indicate the page type (layout, blog, etc.).
Replacing Demo Content
To replace demo content:
- Click the page title and select [Edit]
- Locate sections with demo content
- Edit blocks to add your own text and images
- For banner images, click [Banner] and use the trash icon to remove demo images
Deleting Demo Content
To remove demo pages completely:
- Hover over the page in the Pages panel
- Click the trash icon
- Add new pages using the [+] icon
Restoring Demo Content
You can restore deleted demo pages within 30 days. Options include:
- Using the page restoration feature
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the template
- Switching templates (Version 7.0 only)
Important Considerations
- Remove all demo content before upgrading to a paid subscription
- Demo content cannot be used on live sites per terms of service
- Use stock images from Getty Images or Unsplash instead of demo images
- Editing demo pages automatically removes the noindex tag
- Each design can be customized for any type of site regardless of demo content
For Version 7.0 users: Switching templates will move your edited pages to the [Unlinked] section and replace existing demo content with new template demos.
By properly managing your demo content, you can create a unique site that reflects your brand while taking advantage of your template's full capabilities.
