
Removing and Customizing Demo Content in Squarespace: A Complete Guide
Demo content exists as pages in your pages menu, marked with a "demo" label and specific page-type icons. These pages showcase Squarespace features and layout options but must be replaced with your own content before upgrading to a paid subscription.
Finding Demo Content
- On Computer: Open "Pages" menu to see demo labels
- In App: Tap More > Pages to view demo content

Replacing Demo Content
- Pages: Click page title > Edit
- Page Sections: Click Edit > Locate section > Edit blocks
- Layout Pages: Hover > Edit
- Collection Pages: Click page title > Duplicate Page
- Banner Images: Hover > Click Banner > Delete
Deleting Demo Content
- Computer: Hover over page > Click trash icon
- App: Tap More > Pages > Trash icon > Confirm

Restoring Demo Content
- Version 7.1 & 7.0: Restore within 30 days of deletion
- Alternative Method:
- Check page URL slugs
- Switch to new template
- Uninstall previous template
- Reinstall and switch back
